BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia apologized for the ‘oversight’, ‘misreading’ or ‘miscomprehension’ of data that led to a wrong swab test result of one Locally Stranded Individual (LSI).
Leonardia said that he personally called Jonathan Espinosa to explain to him what happened and to apologize for the mistake on the reading of his swab test result.
Espinosa is an LSI who was first tested negative while he was in a quarantine facility, then later on informed to be positive after he has gone home.
His family was put in home quarantine after he was extracted for isolation.
Espinosa then expressed on social media his dismay on how the city handled his swab test result. His post went viral for days.
The City Mayor said the nurse in-charge was already made to explain on the incident.
Leonardia also assured that the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) will make sure that the same incident will not happen again.
“They’re doing everything to see to it that it will not happen again. That is the main concern of EOC now,” the mayor said.
He added that the EOC is making adjustments on their system to avoid the same mistake.
