4,000 residents underwent surveillance testing on October

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — Almost 4,000 residents have undergone surveillance testing for the month of October, said Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical concerns of the Emergency Operations Center Task Force.

Sorongon said the number is expected to increase as other sectors are set to undergo surveillance testing by next month. The frontliners are the next subject for surveillance testing.

He further said that an average of 121 individuals were taking the swab test each day.

Yesterday, 29 October, around 180 government employees assigned at sectoral concerns and some market vendors submitted themselves for swab testing at the Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient (BRO) Venter.

Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda, cluster head on markets said the swab test results are expected to come out after two days from the date of the testing.

He said that those who will test positive will have to be isolated in the quarantine facilities.

As of 29 October, the city recorded 10 new cases, 11 new recoveries and 0 death.
