IN FULL: Army brigade awards medal to wounded soldier

BGEN Inocencio Pasaporte, Brigade Commander awarded Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) to Private First Class Rest John Botero of 33rd Division Reconnaissance Company personnel during the awarding ceremony at Headquarters, 303rd Brigade, Camp Major Gerona, Brgy Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental on March 25, 2022 (Friday).

PFC Botero was awarded Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) in recognition for his heroic and exemplary efforts during the conduct of combat operation which led to an encounter with more or less ten (10) NPA Terrorist believed to be members of Samahang Yunit Propaganda (SYP), Central Negros 2 at Sitio Ulot, Brgy Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last March 16, 2022.

“The medal symbolizes the bravery of our soldiers in facing our common enemy, the Communist NPA terrorists, and I salute every one of them for their selfless service and dedication in serving the people and protecting the peace in Negros,” said BGen Pasaporte.
