Ursula intensifies into typhoon; four cities, three towns in Neg. Occ. under Signal Number 2

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Ursula has now intensified into a typhoon, moving west at 20 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. Its center spotted 95 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

PAGASA weather bureau, in its severe bulletin advisory number 10, had placed four cities and three towns in Negros Occidental under storm signal number 2. These are: E.B. Magalona, Victorias, Manapla, Cadiz, Sagay, Escalante, and Toboso.

Other cities and towns in Negros Occidental are under storm signal number 1 and these are Bacolod, Bago City, Calatrava, La Carlota City, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Binalbagan, Hinigaran, Isabela, Murcia, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Salvador Benedicto, San Carlos City, San Enrique, Silay City, Talisay City, and Valladolid.

Meanwhile, signal number three has been declared in Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte and Camotes Islands.
