BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod Councilor Wilson Gamboa, Jr. has asked President Duterte to look into the termination of the 60 employees of the Bacolod City Water District.
Gamboa, the lone wolf in the council, filed a resolution asking the President to look into the matter of the water district employees who were found redundant after PrimeWater took over operations.
The employees were barred from entering the compound last 4 January 2021.
Gamboa, in his resolution, cited Republic Act 6656 is entitled “An Act to Protect the Security of Tenure of Civil Service Officers and Employees in the Implementation of Government Reorganization and in Section 2 of the latter law provides that “no officer or employee in the career service shall be removed except for a valid cause and after due notice and hearing”.
