Crude and laughable: Public statement from the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency on the fake video of PBBM

For an image or video to be called a “deep fake” with the use of artificial intelligence (AI), it is supposed to use a combination of software, machine learning, and face swapping to make it difficult to be distinguished from what is true and genuine. This latest attempt at maligning President Marcos, Jr., can only be described as crude and laughable, and does not even merit the tag of “deep fake.”  It’s simply a fake video, nothing more and nothing less.

The forces behind this falsehood clearly stand in the wrong. It also hides behind a more sinister and darker side – a side in league with those who seek to undermine the President and his leadership of the country.

Lies will never prevail. Neither will this.
