Certain parts of Bacolod City will experience power interruptions on 14 August (Saturday) and 15 (Sunday).
This is to ensure stability of distribution lines to avoid further serious damages that will result to major interruptions, the power firm said in its power advisory.

Reasons given are the opening and closing of 69kV airbreak switch at Talisay Compound, Talisay City and at Prk. Kasoy, Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City to facilitate isolation of portion of 69kV transmission line (TL), and replacement of rotten 69kV transmission poles;
preventive maintenance of 20MVA and 10MVA Mt. View substations and correction of hot spot at load side of power transformer;
isolation for safety of line workers during replacement of temporary steel structure and rotten 69kV transmission poles;
Tree trimming; and NGCP, CENECO, and NONECO will conduct opening and closing of airbreak switches and load transfer of Talisay, Panaogao and Lopez substations from Bacolod-Silay 69kV TL to Silay-Cadiz 69kV TL;
erection of three 35ft. concrete utiltiy poles for midspan, three utility steel poles for 3-span single phase primary line and installation of one 25kVa privately-owned distribution transformer and its accessories.
Electricity consumers are further advised that, in the event of any power interruption, electrical switches should be turned-off for safety reasons.
When electricity supply resumes, they are to provide allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surges.
