BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Physician and former Duterte Cabinet member Lorraine Marie Badoy minced no words in pushing for the death penalty for urban Communist operatives who are “runing our children and our country” with their acts of terrorism.
Badoy also accused the CPP and its armed wing, the New People’s Army, for brazen attacks on civilians including the recent Faiato family massacre in Himamaylan City.
She also favors calls for the Faustos to be declared “heroes for peace” for standing up against the terrorist NPA.
The Army had already confirmed that the patriarch, Roly, was an asset who had been helping them against the rebels.
He, his wife, Emilda, and their sons – Raben and Ben – were found dead on 15 June 2023, a day after they were killed in their house in Kangkiling, an upland community in Buenavista, a mountain village of Himamaylan City.
Badoy, a member of the End Local Communist Armed Conflict national body, had earlier said over “Laban Kasama ang Bayan (Fight Along with the Nation), that it is time to reinstate death as the capital punishment for terrorism, including those committed by local Communists who have been designated as terrorists both in the country and abroad.
” If only we can line them up against the wall and shoot them,” Badoy said over the show that she co hosts with former Communist cadre Jeffrey Celiz.
“I stand by what I said,” Badoy told DNX in a phone interview as she pointed out that the death penalty must be brought back for terrorists, druglords, and corrupt politicians.
Celiz had repeatedly accused partylist solons Raoul Manuel of Kabataan, France Castro of Alliance of Concerned Teachers, and several others to be part of the CPP
The show that airs over Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s SMNI News Channel has become a seeming rallying point for anti-Communist crusaders and former Party cadres who have ceased to support the Communist Party.
The CPP had been waging a protracted war in the countryside for more than 50 years, making it the longest running insurgency in Asia.
