BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – LandLand Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Region 6 Director Richard Osmeña has agreed to issue a special permit to operators of vans-for-hire being contracted by call center firms for their employees within 24 hours after these apply online.
The assurance was made by Osmena after an online meeting with Cong. Greg Gasataya who acted on the controversy involving the sudden apprehension by LTO agents of vans being contracted by these firms.
Gasataya told DNX Osmena assured him as soon as these vans operators apply online with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, the LTO will issue a special permit to them.
Gasataya had already met with representatives of call centers and other essential services and told them about the commitment of Osmena.
Mass public transport had been suspended in the city and the province after officials placed these under Enhanced Community Quarantine since 30 March, and extended it until end of April.
Employees of essential services, however, have been among those exempted from curfew hours and other restrictions under the executive orders of the city mayor and the governor.
