BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — Bacolod City now has a new confirmed case, a 37-year-old male repatriate with travel histories to Miami and Manila, processed data from the Bacolod City Health Office reveals.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Bacolod since start of monitoring to 17. Of the number, seven have since recovered, one is home-quarantined, five are facility-quarantined, with three deaths.
June 5 data also shows that there are 36 current suspected cases, with 16 as outpatients, and 19 currently admitted.
Patient 17 is currently facility-quarantined. He has no pre-existing health condition.
His travel history shows that he departed from Miami last 18 April, then arrived in Manila on the same day. He had undergone quarantine in hotel in Manila, and underwent an RT-PCR test last 5 May, with results coming out negative.
He was transferred to another facility in Makati last 8 May where he had a roommate for one day, and departed from Manila via a passenger vessel last 19 May.
On 20 May, he arrived in Bacolod and was immediately quarantined in a facility here. A repeat RT-PCR test was done last 26 May, and his results, positive, came out today.
Earlier, June 6, a fellow repatriate, a 43-year-old male with travel histories to England and Manila became Patient 16. Like Patient 17, he had undergone an earlier RT-PCR test in Manila (results release 12 May) where he tested negative.
Patient 16’s repeat RT-PCR test done in a quarantine facility here last 26 May, with results released 4 June coming up positive.
Both Patients 17 and 16 are asymptomatic.
