BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The southernmost town of Hinobaan will soon see a modern slaughterhouse worth almost P50 million under an Agriculture Department program funded by the World Bank.
Department of Agriculture Regional Executive Director Remelyn Recoter had already informed Engineer Moises D Mana-ay, deputy project director of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) that the proposed subproject has passed the criteria.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinobaan, Recoter said in a letter to Mana-ay that the town of Hinobaan had been allowed to proceed with the invitation of prospective bidders through publication and posting on the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS).
The official website of the DA states that the PDRP “aims to establish a modern, value chain-oriented and climate-resilient agriculture and fisheries sector.”
There is no date set for the building of the slaughterhouse since it still has to undergo the procurement process.
