132 new cases in NegOcc, Bacolod over the weekend

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Negros Occidental and Bacolod City currently has a combined 132 new cases since Friday, 24 July, 2020, averaging 33 cases a day.

Consolidated reports over the weekend show that the province has, as of press time, 77 cases, 63 (or about 81 percent) of which are Locally Stranded Individuals. The rest are Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (2), local cases/domestic cases (4), OFWs (5), and frontliners (3).

Most are asymptomatic (40 of the cases), and the rest have symptoms like cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, LBM, fever, and loss of appetite.

Meanwhile, Bacolod has 55 new cases over the weekend, or an average of 18 cases a day. This brings the total number of cases in Bacolod to 150, implying that more than one-third of the total tally came during the last weekend alone.

Of the 150, 57 have recovered, which leaves 89 cases still active, with four deaths.

The highest reported in a single day in the city so far was last 25 July, 2020 with 27 cases, 24 of which were local. Nineteen of the locally-transmitted cases were exposed to Patient 89, a government worker holding office at the Old City Hall.

The Old City Hall had to be on lockdown today for disinfection.

Granular – or small-scale were also implemented in village 29 (one household), the whole subvillage of Seaside in Tangub, the whole subvillage of Mahimulaton in Banago, five households in the subvillage of Riverside in Banago, and 30 households in the subvillage of Masanag 1 in village 26.
