BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Provincial Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is suggesting the use of granular lockdowns in areas where confirmed COVID cases are prevalent but will leave the decision to local officials.

Lacson said he is also thinking pf issuing an executive order that will limit mass gatherings amid the rise in comfirmed COVID cases here.

He said there is a need to close resorts “for a while,” like what some local governments are doing by closing their leisure areas.

Lacson said there are also observations that COVID symptoms in recent cases appear to have been getting mild.

This means there is no need to confine these patients in hospitals.

“They can be handled by quarantine centers,” he said.
