DEP-ED Province ‘More than ready’ for August 22 classes, spox says.

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines— Department of Education Provincial Spokesperson Ian Arnold Arnaez said all 580 schools of the province are ready to start the school year 2022-2023 this coming 22 August.

Some schools according to Arnaez meanwhile will have to continue with remote learning, especially those on the southern area of the province that has been heavily affected by typhoons and have more damaged facilities.

Arnaez added that four schools in Cauayan town have received assistance from the central office for the construction of a temporary space for the students to use during the in person classes.

The Dep-Ed provincial office also noted an increase in nrollment as of today with an 81 percent enrollment rate as compared to last year’s 79 percent.

Schools will definitely open on August 22 following schemes suggested by Dep-Ed, whether via limited face to face classes, or blended learning until 31 October.

However, on November, these schools will have to open for full face to face classes according to him.
