BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The city is seen to have a more stable coronavirus disease (Covid-19) situation by the end of October, said Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)- Visayas Chief Implementer Major General Mel Feliciano.

In a press conference, Feliciano said that the number of Covid-19 cases in the city is decreasing in the past two or three weeks.

The city has recorded an average of 25 Covid-19 cases every day for the month of October; a decrease from an average of 50 cases per day in September.

However, Feliciano noted that the drop on the record should not mean that people should be complacent with the situation.

“Part of Emergency Operations Center’s (EOC) effort is to remind the public not to be complacent, and I believe they will not… it is actually more of the awareness and the discipline of everyone,” he said.

Meanwhile, Cluster Head for Isolation Facilities Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan said currently there are 239 positive patients in the school facilities while 77 are in hotels.

This makes the capacity utilization rate of the seven hospitals in the city at 58.5%.
