City Hall to real property owners: pay early, get discount of 20

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The city government here has encouraged the public to pay their real property tax (RPT) in advance on or before 30 Dec for the full year or at the very least, for the first and second quarters of 2021 to avail the 20 percent discount.

The taxpayers may proceed to designated payment centers at the first floor of Ayala Malls Capitol Central from Mondays to Sundays 10 AM-5PM and at the Land Tax Division City Treasurer’s Office Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) from Mondays to Fridays 8 AM to 5 PM.

In a press release, the city government said the services will be available on the said schedule except during the Christmas Day 25 December.

Assistant City Treasurer Arlene Memoria emphasized the importance of having a satellite office that will accept payments for the 2021 RPT.

“This service at the mall is to provide an additional venue for it so that payors need not all flock to the BCGC to pay for their RPT. This way, social distancing protocols can be better observed at these two sites,” said Memoria.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia earlier said having satellite office at the mall is part of the city’s answer to innovaton.

“This will make our services more accessible and convenient to our clients in line with our thrust to keep our city ‘business-friendly’ as it has always been our credo,” said Leonardia.

Taxpayers must bring a copy of their official receipt or tax declaration. For inquiries, they may contact Land Tax Division at 434-7950 and 0915-522-6904.
