City allocates P21M for gratuity pay for contractual, J.O. workers

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The local government here has allocated P21 million for the gratuity pay of the city hall contractual and job order employees, as mandated by President Rodrigo Duterte.

On Monday, 28 December, Duterte issued Administrative Order No. 38 that grants contractual and job order employees in the government service a one-time gratuity not exceeding P3,000.

The order will cover those informal workers in the national government agencies, government-owned or controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, and local water districts.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the city council shall approve an appropriation ordinance authorizing the grant of gratuity pay.

The one-time gratuity pay will be given to workers who rendered at least four months of service as of 15 December this year, while those in service for less than four months shall receive the same incentive on a pro-rata basis.

A maximum of ₱2,000 will be given to those who worked for three months or more but less than four months; not exceeding ₱1,500 for those who have worked for two months or more but less than three months; and not exceeding ₱1,000 for those who rendered services for less than two months.

The mayor said this year is the best for the city hall employees in terms of bonus and incentive package.

The regular and casual employees, meanwhile, received five types of cash incentives namely, year-end bonus, performance-based bonus, cash gift, collective negotiation agreement incentive, and productivity enhancement incentive.
