Bing asks IATF again: downgrade Q status to MGCQ

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Mayor Evelio Leonardia has requested the National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF) to downgrade the quarantine status of the city to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) by the month of December.

Leonardia said he signed a letter addressed to the NIATF appealing to downgrade the city’s quarantine status next month.

“The coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city are consistently dropping based on the records, we are now ready to be placed under a less strict status,” he said.

As of 26 November, the city has recorded 24 new cases, 16 recoveries, and no death.

The total confirmed positive cases logged at 5,331 with 275 active cases, 4,894 recovered, and 162 deaths.

The city is currently placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) until the end of November.
