BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — Bacolod City currently has 422 active cases, 287 of which are local transmissions, data from the Department of Health Western Visayas show.

The 21 new cases are all local transmissions.

The city is second only to Iloilo City in terms of local transmissions among highly urbanized cities and provinces in Western Visayas.

Because of this, the Department of Health Western Visayas in a live presser has recommended that the city beef up its awareness campaign, including a regular recorida for CoViD-19 awareness.

The DOH 6, through Regional Director Dr Marilyn Convocar, has also recommended, among others, to come up with an Incident Command System, which is a standardized approach in the management and response to emergencies.

“This is something that Bacolod lacks,” Convocar said in a live presser earlier.
