Waterless weekend in at least 50 Bacolod areas as NGCP power outage shuts down 20 wells

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – At least 50 residential subdivisions and areas will have no water Saturday, 9 October, as 50 wells of water utilities firm Bacolod City Water District shut down tomorrow due to a power outage by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines as claimed by BACIWA.

An advisory from Primewater Construction Corporation that manages the firm said there would be no water from 6am to 6pm in the following areas:

  • Helvetia Subdivision
  • Gonzaga Subdivision
  • Lilgon Ville
  • Patria Village
  • Royal Meadows
  • Villa Angela
  • Villa San Agustin
  • Lacson and San Juan Streets
  • SM City Bacolod
  • Reclamation Area
  • Brgy. Singcang
  • Cabacawan
  • Akishola
  • Greensville
  • La Salle Avenue
  • Capitol Ville
  • Fortune Towne
  • Fortune Towne Relocation Site
  • Citiville
  • Bethany Court
  • East Villas
  • Villa Estefania 1 and 2
  • Alexandra 1 and 2
  • East Homes 1,2, 3
  • Bata Banago
  • Sto. Rosario
  • Sta. Clara Subdivision
  • Santorini

The advisory added the NGCP outage will affect its 20 wells at the Loygoy, Villa Soledad, Capitol Village, Buena Royale, Carmela De Bacolod, Residencia, Fortune Towne, Bethany Court, Camingawan, Villa Angela, East Homes 2, Alexandra, East Homes 3, Bata, Estanzia, Montebello, Magdalene, and Santorini.
