Familiaran, in his official FB account, clarified that he maintains only one account, and that the poser account is “in no way connected” to him.

“This fake account is used to taint and mock the reputation of VM El Cid,” his official page said, as he urged the public to report the poser account.

Screenshots of the poser account show the birthday of the vice-mayor as 9 December, 1994. The account also has been giving flak to netizens in various exchanges.

One netizen, based on the screenshot, deplored the new cases of the city.

The account shot back: “Hungod niya ba bala malatnan sla daw mango ka man (Did they deliberately open themselves to infection? You’re also stupid.”

The account even replied to another comment with “linte”, a mild profanity in Hiligaynon.

This is not the first time that clone accounts had popped up bearing the vice-mayor’s name. Last March, multiple accounts also popped up, causing Familiaran to announce that these are fake.
