US, Russia at odds over looming Ukraine invasion

Old enemies of the Cold War, two major superpowers US and Russia are once again at odds as President Biden sends troops to its allies in Europe as conflict between Ukraine and Russia escalates.

The deployment of troops is an apparent reaction to the looming invasion of
Russia on Ukraine, where Russia currently has stationed 100,000 troops.

Russia denies the claims of invasion.

Biden, according to reports from international media, have sent 2,000 ground troops to Poland and Germany, while it sent 1,000 troops in Germany to Romania.

The US insists that it is clear on its commitment to its allies as it sends troops to the Eastern flank of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that is closest to Russia.

Russia has denounced the US deployment of troops, calling it “destructive”.

The Russo-Ukraine conflict started right years ago in 2014 with the annexation of Ukraine’s southern Crimea peninsula.
