Certain parts of Bacolod and Negros Occidental will experience power interruption of up to 12 hours on Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as the Central Negros Electric Cooperative conducts maintenance activities.
The power firm, in its advisory said it is taking advantage of the shut down by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines of its Bacolod-Silay 69kV transmission line on Sunday, in connection with the final phase of the ongoing project that will facilitate loading of the third new 100MVA transformer at Bacolod substation and energization of CENECO’s new 69kV line.
CENECO will use the downtime to conduct simultaneous maintenance activities.

Electricity consumers are further advised that, in the event of any power interruption, electrical switches be turned off for safety reasons.
When electricity supply resumes they should provide an allowance of at least 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.
