Mayo said the barangay had been renting a private property since 2 December. Before that, they had been using a mobile office.

“I was given an offer by a private owner to transfer temporary location of the barangay hall on his property because I was already worried about my things unsecured in that mobile office,” Mayo said.

In August this year, the barangay hall located by the roadside was among the demolished illegal structures roadside.

Since the demolition, a container van has served as the mobile office.

Mayo added the private property where the barangay hall is currently located is being sold by the owner for P7 million, which means that they will need to transfer again to a different place when the property is bought.

“When the property is sold, anytime, we are also ready to transfer,” said Mayo.

He added that the P2.8 million budget of their barangay next year will not be enough to cover all their expenses.

This year, the said barangay has a P2.3 million budget.
