The doctor, by continuing to perform her duties, has placed “Sagaynons and frontliners” in grave danger because of her “irresponsible action”.

As preventive measure, the operating room and other areas of the hospital will be fully disinfected “to ensure the safety of all the patients and the medical staff”.

“Some of the nurses will also be subjected to quarantine as part of the protocol,” the mayor said.

Marañon assured, though, that the hospital in question, Alfredo Marañon Sr Memorial District Hospital, in barangay Bato will not be on lockdown. It will instead be closed for admission and consultation starting yesterday, 29 March to 5 April.
