City to remain under MGCQ until end of January

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod City has remained under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) status until 31 January 2021.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced last 28 December 2020 the new quarantine classifications recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF-EID) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

The decision was made amid the possible increase of Covid-19 cases due to holiday gatherings.

Duterte likewise announced ten areas nationwide to be placed under the GCQ status. These include Metro Manila, Isabela, Santiago City, Iloilo, Batangas, Tacloban, Lanao del Sur, Iligan City, Davao del Norte and Davao City.

The rest of the country remain under the MGCQ status, subject to appeal from the respective local government units (LGUs).

The latest record from City Health Office showed 1 new active case, 5 recoveries, and 4 deaths.

The total confirmed cases logged at 5,589 with 74 active, 5,338 recovered, and 177 deaths.
