BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – A lone gunman wounded two young men with one bullet in the southern town of Hinobaan while two suspected drug peddlers were nabbed in Hinigaran town as a joint operation netted in Guihulngan City an elderly Isabela town man who allegedly raped a child.
The Hinobaan town police reported John Paul Bautista, 18, and Jerreme Catadman, 23, were shot by suspected shooter Marlon Quibod, 33, in Purok 2, Brgy. Alim, Hinoba-an.
The initial probe showed Bautista and Catadman were buying ice from a store since they were having a drinking spree.
When the two were on they way back to the place they drinking in Quibon allegedly pointed a gun at them for no reason.
They ran away from Quibon and told his friend, Bensyo Conquiño Jr, about the incident.
Conquiño told the two that he would settle the incident but when Quibod arrived at the scene, he immediately shot at Bautista, hitting him on the right side of his stomach.
The slug, however, exited Bautista’s back and hit Catadman who was standing behind him.
The victims brought to Eleuterio Decena Memorial Hospital for treatment while Quibod remains at large.
A .45 caliber pistol was seized from the scene.
Also in the south, in Kabankalan City, Norelyn Esmane, 42; and Jermar Tanaleon were caught by Kabankalan police in a buybust operation for allegedly selling suspected shabu in Purok 2, Barangay (Village) 6.
A police officer who acted as a poseur buyer bought one sachet of the suspected shabu from Esmane for P500.
The confiscated illegal drug estimated to weigh two grams has a Standard Drug Price of P13,600.
Meanwhile, a joint team of police from Isabela and Moises Padilla towns arrested Warlito Dumago, 65, for allegedly raping a child, statutory acts of lasciviousness and grave threats.
His case for qualified statutory rape is non-bailable while that for his grave threats is set at P36,000 and P180,000 for statutory acts of lasciviousness.
He is currently under the custody of Isabela Police.
