The Philippine Army clashed with the rebels anew, this time in Cauayan town, in the sub-village of Bajay, village of Calling early this morning, 19 April 2022.
The incident left one rebel dead, with one M16 rifle recovered.
Brigadier General Innocencio Pasaporte, chief of the 303rd Infantry Brigade said soldiers of the 15th Infantry Battalion acted on reports over rebel presence, or 15 New People’s Army members in Bajay.
Pasaporte said the NPA rebels that the soldiers clashed with are believed to be under the South West Front.
No casualties from the side of the government troops meanwhile were reported.
