BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella said he is grateful now that his picture is displayed along with other city mayors inside the Bacolod City Government Center, thanks to Mayor Albee Benitez.
Puentevella said he had waited for so long for it to happen.
He said though it was just a small thing for others, he considered this as an act of appreciation for his service to Bacoleños.
The former mayor said it is very obvious that the previous administration took things personally against him.
Puentevella has been a long time political rival of former Mayor Evelio Bing Leonardia, who lost his reelection bid to Benitez.
He said the previous administration had the chance to put his image along with other former mayors but then chose not to.
Monico also described the politics here in the city as “dirty” and “petty”. They should have been fair and nor make a big deal on simple matters, he said.
He added that Benitez served him justice as he also pledge to support the new chief executive.
