Man on motorcycle shot, survives by fleeing on foot

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Ruben Basa was shot by a relative in Victorias City early evening last night.

He left his motorcycle behind, fled on foot, and lived to tell the tale.

Police said Basa, 41, reported being shot in the shoulder by Roland Mirambel, also 41 as he was driving his motorcycle around 8pm in Luisita a sugar plantation in Village 13,around 37 kilometers north of here.

Basa’s middle name is reportedly Mirambel.

Victorias City Police said Basa’s motorcycle that Mirambel used to escape was recovered but he is still at large.

The police added the investigation is still on-going to identify the motive behind the shooting.
