BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Councilor Elmer Sy might have died and will be buried next week but a potable water distribution project of a civic group here that the late city dad supports continues.
The Rotary Club of Bacolod has announced that it has rolled out its new version of the project, calling it “Tubig Para Sa Barangay 3.0 (Water for the Villages 3.0).”
It was launched today, 3 July 2021, at hacienda Carmen in the village of Granada here.
A news release from former club president Frederick de Leon said the project is “in partnership with the Liga Ng Mga Barangay, the couple Sy Boon Pit and the late Bacolod City Councilor Elmer Sy continues.”
It added the project is now on its third year “by providing clean and safe potable water to recipient communities all over the City of Bacolod.”
Meanwhile, the distribution of grocery packs was led by Rotary Past District 3850 Governor Edgar Sy, RC Bacolod Life Changing President Pauline Cuaycong, Club Secretary and Past President Frederick Anthony de Leon, Asst. Treasurer Michelle Medrano, Rtn. Kyle Bravo, Rtn. Mae Eras, incoming baby Rotarians Kia Paredes, Chelah Corpus, Emily Cuaycong, Shine Genzola, Edlyn Agraviador, Joy Racasa and Brgy. Officials.
The release also said a total of 55 Communities werw served during RY 2019-2020 while a total of 42 communities served during RY 2021-2022.
