An 81-year old-man was found dead in sitio Baklayan Dos, Mahalang village, Himamaylan City yesterday afternoon, 7 February 2022.
The victim was identified as Eustaqio Palmes alyas Tikyu. His body was recovered by members of the local police who received a call from the Himamaylan City Rescue Unit.
Palmes’ body was already decomposing when this was found face down by a farmer. His children agreed not to submit the body of the victim for post mortem examination and decided to bury the remains at Brgy. Mahalang Public Cemetery.
On the other hand, the body of a woman who apparently hanged herself was found in the sub-village of Maalikaya, Canjusa village in Pulupandan town.
The 18 year old victim of apparent suicide was found inside her friend’s house. Investigation showed that the victim was suffering from depression, which caused her to hang herself using a nylon cord.
Doctors found no signs of physical struggle or foul play found while rapid antigen test result on her was negative.
