Cops nab shabu delivery man; bato on wheels the new modus, police prober says

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – It was a missing quarantine pass that did him in.

As merchants here are forced to deliver amid the economic slowdown caused by quarantine declarations, dealers of illegal drugs have also resorted to the same style.

The blotter report of Police Station 2 said unnamed residents of Tilapia sub-village in Village 3 first called the station past noon today about a person “roaming around without a (Home Quarantine Pass) and transacting illegal drugs.”

The report added that policemen seized three big sachets and three medium ones, all filled with suspected meth, and estimated to weigh 18 grams valued at around P82,000.

“This is the new normal for drug dealers,” Police Lt. Col. Ariel Pico told DNX following the arrest of Brisuela who is currently on probation for a previous drug-related case.

Case prober Corporal Edmer Vasquez told DNX that Brisuela is in their list of drug personalities operating within the jurisdiction of Station 2.

Vasquez said even before the quarantines, from general to enhanced, took effect here, Brisuela and several others have already started to do door-to-door drop offs of illegal drugs.
