BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – City Legal Officer Romeo Carlos Ting will issue show cause orders this week to individuals who have been assigned City Hall vehicles that are among the 90 assets that cannot be found in an inventory of the General Services Office.
Ting told DNX City Hall has yet to determine the circumstances surrounding the 90 motor vehicles including trucks and motorcycles that were issued to several persons, some working in barangays, after Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez issued an order for the GSO to lead the search for the missing assets.
Gilda Lluisma, former GSO head, had said during a press conference last Monday, 6 February 2023, that the 90 unaccounted service vehicles are still subject for verification and that they will be hunting for the persons issued the memorandun receipts.
She added that they will be relying on whatever documents their office have,
though some of these accountable personnel insisted they have already turned over the vehicle assigned to them but cannot show proof.
Lluisima said their inventory showed out of the 500 service vehicles of the city, 197 are serviceable while 108 are unserviceable.
Lawyer Pacifico Maghari III, the city administrator said a day after the news conference that Lluisima was reassigned to head the City Population Office and that GSO Supply Officer Victor Espina will take charge of the inventory and inspection of the lost vehicles as the new office head.
